Ecuador

In Ecuador FDLP reports that the bureaucratic landlord state declares war on La Merced de Buenos Aires. The comrades writes: “The military and police once again entered La Merced de Buenos Aires. This time they did it on a war footing, armed and equipped as only they can present themselves before their enemies, in this case, the people of Buenos Aires.”

The military were accompanied by officials and workers from the mining company Hanrine. Many of these workers have been pushed to violently support the company’s presence in this and other regions, in order to try to keep their work.

From the start there has been a strong confrontation between the military and the people. Many comrades fought determined against the violent repression of the reaction. After a week the comrades are still fighting firmly to defend their land.

Ireland

In Ireland the campaign against the extradition of Liam Campbell continues. The Irish Republican Liam Campbell is facing extradition to Lithuania. He has not been charged with any crime and has never set foot in Lithuania. If Liam Campbell is extradited Lithuania he may be held without trial for several years in inhumane prison conditions in a country known for terrible human rights violations.

Greece

While the wildfires rampage in Greece the sentence “Patrols everywhere, fire brigades nowhere!” have gone viral. The masses in Greece know very well about the crimes of the state and imperialism. While firefighting staff has been reduced and their equipment is inadequate and outdated, the police apparatus has continued to expand. There are only 2,000 firefighters on all fronts of the fire, while in Athens alone 5,000 policemen were ready to fight against the masses at a demonstration. The catastrophic situation is not simply a natural disaster, but result of the policy of the state and the imperialist plunder of Greece.

The International Press Announce Taliban forces rapidly advance: The fall of the Afghan government is imminent

After launching a series of offensives in May that coincided with the final withdrawal of foreign ocupations troops, Taliban forces has now recaptured vast amounts of Afghanistan and is rapidly advancing.

In just five days, nine of Afghanistan’s provincial capitals has been captured by the Taliban. Since Friday the 6th of august, the group has seized control of the Faizabad, Farah, Pul-e-Khumri, Sar-e-Pul, Sheberghan, Aybak, Kunduz, Taluqan and Zaranj.

Afghan government forces claim to have killed 500 Taliban fighters in attempts to push back their advances, but their attempts seem to be in vain. Every day the Taliban now makes new advances. On august Wednesday the 11th, Taliban fighters seized the Afghan borders with Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Russia.

Hundreds of Afghan soldiers retreated to the airport outside Kunduz, after the Taliban captured the northern city. Shortly after however, Taliban fighters captured the airport as well, resulting in hundreds of Afghan soldiers surrendering.

Khalid Payenda, Afghanistan’s acting finance minister, has resigned and left the country after the Taliban’s recent advances, especially the takeover of custom posts. It should now be beyond doubt, that the Afghan puppet regime is falling day by day. After almost two decades, it is clear: NATO, led by Yankee imperialism has lost the war.

For many decades, the Afghan people, principally the poor peasants have been forged in the armed struggle against invading imperialist powers. Large parts of the masses have fought and are now fighting against Yankee imperialism, but under reactionary banners, black banners of reaction, the flags of the Taliban.

Masses are fighting under the banner of the Taliban principally because of the false promise that they will rid the Afghan people of the vulture that is Yankee imperialism. Although the US puppet regime is falling and imperialist troops are withdrawing from the country, the “Afghan peace deal” makes it clear that the masses still won’t be free from the yoke of Yankee imperialism.

In the so-called „Agreement for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan which is not recognized by the United States as a state and is known as the Taliban and the United States of America” it is explicitly stated:

„The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan … will send a clear message that those who pose a threat to the security of the United States and its allies have no place in Afghanistan, and will instruct members of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan … not to cooperate with groups or individuals threatening the security of the United States and its allies.“

And further: „The United States will seek economic cooperation for reconstruction with the new postsettlement Afghan Islamic government … “

The only force capable of liberating an oppressed nation like Afghanistan from imperialism, is the poor peasantry led by the proletariat under leadership his CP. The only road to liberation for the masses of oppressed nations is new democratic revolution through people’s war.

Until this is initiated, we see clearly that US imperialism will continue to dominate the country, the Yankee leach will continue to suck the blood of the toiling Afghan masses. However, the outcome of the war – culminating in the events occurring at this very moment, shows us something of vital importance.

The fact that the world’s sole hegemonic imperialist superpower together with it’s allies has failed in it’s war of invasion on an oppressed nation is a striking sign. Imperialist wars of invasion are no longer able to succeed as before in establishing solid foothold. Imperialism is in total crisis. It is rotten to the core. It has reached stage four of cancer and it’s doom is impending.

Let this be a sign to the masses of the world that we live in the historic epoch where the tides have turned. Imperialism is in a state of strategic defensive, the world proletarian revolution is in the state of strategic offensive. The bright future, the new dawn is in the horizon.

On recent armed actions in West Africa

On sunday the 8th of august, Burkina Faso soldiers were attacked near the village of Dounkoun near the country’s borders with Niger and Mali. The provisional toll counts twelve soldiers killed and eight wounded.

The ambush is part of a series of armed actions that has occurred recently in West Africa in the border area between Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso. The government of Burkina Faso links the attack to jihadist figthers and claim it is revenge for two accused jihadist leaders recently killed by armed forces.

Seen in a larger context, these occurances are not unique. In various regions of the world, armed struggle is on the rise. But the problem is that the fury of the masses are misled and misguided by reactionaries. The issue is that communists, guided by Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, Principally Maoism, are not there to lead them. This is why masses in many parts of the world, like in Burkina Faso, fight under reactionary banners. They are fighting under reactionary banners because our banners are not there. In other words, they are fighting under reactionary banners due to our shortcomings.

The duty of the communists, today’s Maoists, is to lead the masses. They are ready to fight and have always fought. The task now is to raise the banner of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, mainly Maoism, to lead and guide the struggle of the peoples and to put Maoism as the sole command and guide of the world proletarian revolution.

The current people’s wars in Peru, India, Turkey and the Philippines plus those to come are shining beacons showing the struggling masses all over the world, especially in the Third World, the true path of their liberation, the need to turn all these armed struggles into people’s wars under the leadership of the Communist Parties to sweep away the three mountains that oppress them: imperialism, bureaucratic capitalism and semi-feudalism. Let us remember that this has always been the case.
